We have a baby girl!

Rebecca Joy came into the world on Friday the 22nd at 7:20 pm! She weighed 7.7 and was 20.25 inches long with lots of hair. She truly has been a joy to Jack and I and we just can’t get enough of her! We’re both doing well and glad to be home. Jack was an amazing support through the whole process and I can’t imagine having gone through it without him. He’s pretty whipped by his little girl and she loves him lots, too! It’s amazing the bond that can be built so early on – we are both so in love with Rebecca and it’s hard to believe that she’s really ours! We are so thankful that God has given us such a beautiful little girl to raise and are praying faithfully that He’ll give us the guidance as we guide her into a life for Him.

My last OB appt!!!

Today I had what should be my last OB appointment. Dr. Peck is not liking my BP's as they continue to be an issue even with the meds and scheduled an induction for the end of the week if things have not happened on their own. So I'll check into Swedish Medical Center on Thursday evening and hopefully by Friday we'll have a little D squirming around!!! But hopefully things will happen on their own before then - feeling some twinges and there's a full moon on Thursday!! So I'm praying for a quick and healthy delivery that happens sooner than later!

Does 'no news is good news' apply when you're waiting for a baby?!?!

We're still waiting. Things are slowly progressing in my body and we're just hanging out. We are blessed to be able to stay at Jack's parents while we wait in Denver for the baby's arrival. But I'm getting anxious - mainly to meet our baby and to get back home! I've been in Denver for 2 weeks and am ready for my own surroundings! And I miss my church and friends! Hopefully soon.

PTL for a good surgery!

The surgery went well and we're waiting for a baby! It was a pretty quick procedure - less than 20 minutes in the OR and that included the prep work of the spinal! Hopefully we'll soon be heading back to the hospital to have a baby! I'll update when we have news!

Yeah for BP meds!

Thankfully the blood pressure is getting better with the addition of the meds! I had an appt scheduled for Tuesday, however a blizzard closed the mountain pass and I couldn't get to Denver! Yikes! Thankfully I was not in labor and was able to reschedule for today. Everything looked great and we remain on schedule to do the cerclage removal on Friday the 8th - that's just one week from today!!! Hopefully it won't take too long for labor to begin after that. Dr. Heyborne said that most women will go into labor within 7-10 days and a few will begin labor sooner (I'm hoping to be one of them!). However, at this point I'm still enjoying the pregnancy and am not feeling miserable. I had been sick this week with bronchitis/respiratory junk and am hoping to fully get well and rested before labor begins.

Jack has graduate classes this weekend and will, therefore, be gone until Sunday night. Considering that, along with me not feeling well and the unpredictable weather this time of year, we decided that I would stay in Denver with his parents until my mom arrives. Her flight gets here on Tuesday evening and then we'll head up after my 8am appt on Wednesday. We'll stay for a couple of days until returning for the surgery on Friday. At that point I probably won't be returning home until the baby comes!!

I can't wait to meet this little one! We're able to see on the ultrasound that it's got plenty of hair!! I'm anxious to discover the gender and to be settled on a name. And no, we don't have one picked out yet!!

We don't have any pictures from today's ultrasound. The baby is so squished in there right now that everything is very distorted! We weren't even able to get a good face shot today! They did estimate that the baby now weighs about 6 pounds and 9 ounces. That's good enough for me!! But my belly button hasn't popped yet so I guess it's not done cooking!!!
